As a post britpop band, Bloc Party is often mentioned in the same breath with, among others, Arctic Monkeys and Franz Ferdinand, but the band distinguishes itself with hints of punk, electronica and house and their characteristic nervousness and strongly uplifting rhythm section. Combined with the vocals of frontman Kele Okereke, you get a thrilling sound that makes not moving almost impossible.

We know the band from albums ‘A Weekend In The City’ and ‘Intimacy’ and singles ‘Flux’, ‘One More Chance’ and ‘The Prayer’, but most known is their debut album ‘Silent Alarm’, with hits like ‘Banquet’ and ‘Helicopter’. This now mythical record was showered with praise back in 2005, meant the breakthrough to the general public and gave the band a reputation as one of the biggest in the indie rock scene.

Bloc Party is coming to Cactusfestival to pay tribute to this reputation, bringing ‘Silent Alarm’ live and in its intirety.
