Het Zesde Metaal b

Personal stories and perceptive character sketches.

In recent years Het Zesde Metaal grew to become one of Belgium’s most respected bands. Their album ‘Ploegsteert’, featuring the song of the same name that was voted best Belgian song according to Radio 1 once again in 2017, put Het Zesde Metaal on the map once and for all. Their fourth record ‘Calais’ conquered the whole nation again, despite their regional accent. Now more than ever Wannes Cappelle, Tom Pintens, Filip Wauters, Tim Van Oosten and Robin Aerts form a firm band that dares to take risks in its sound. The stunning electronics on ‘Calais’ are enriching and Tom Pintens’ string arrangements give the songs even more emotional depth.

Het Zesde Metaal masterfully tells personal stories and perceptive character sketches and sounds at moments quite ardent, confronting and wry. You can tell the band has many miles behind their back and truely became the musical equal to their great lyrics.

Brihang b

Pure poetry and inventive beats.

Few artists can present as many accolades before their debut album hits the shelves! After being named winner of De Nieuwe Lichting in 2014 Brihang’s career took off by leaps and bounds. The West-Flemish wordsmith differs from many hiphop artists in Belgium. He paints with pure poetry and inventive beats and distinguishes himself from the stereotypical subjects his colleagues Indulge in. Meanwhile the debut album ‘zolangmogelijk’ has arrived, including the fantastic single ‘Kleine Dagen’, on which Brihang took every aspect of the creative process in his own hands. Those who have seen one of Brihang’s performances in the past years, know his urge to experiment extends to his live shows. About time he takes the stage again in Bruges!
