It’s been 25 years since best friends David Baruchel and Manuel Nectoux started Babylon Circus in the French city of Lyon. Since then, the band has grown into a 10-person collective, making 10 times as much noise as back in the day. Babylon Circus are all about fun, with their crazy French ska and global folk with pinches of rock and electronics. They’re Gitane dancehall punksters in the tradition of Mano Negra and Manu Chao, influenced by bands like The Skatalites, The Clash and Rachid Taha. Their energy seems boundless. They’ll be presenting new album ‘State of Emergency’ at MOODS! with the necessary fanfare. In first single ‘Monster’, the band proclaim ‘I’m warning you da shit will hit the fan’. Don’t say you haven’t been warned!
